Job summary

Depending on training and assignment, you may provide pre-arrival instructions and operate within approved medical dispatch protocols under supervision. This role may require overnight or weekend shifts as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or recognized equivalent required.
• EMD certification may be required before appointment depending on vacancy.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies.
• Confirm patient location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about patient condition.
• Determine response priority using the medical dispatch system.
• Dispatch ambulance resources when assigned.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information to responding personnel and document call processing.
