Job summary

Pafford Emergency Medical Services of Mississippi Inc. seeks qualified EMS personnel to provide rapid Basic Life Support for ill and injured individuals. The role includes recognizing emergencies, performing differential diagnoses, and leading first responders at scenes.

You will document patient care, communicate with physicians, and transport patients to care facilities. Strong clinical skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain CPR for the Health Care Provider.
• Emergency Driving Certification with ongoing driving training.
• Good knowledge of street systems, addresses, and area layout, and of rescue and emergency equipment used in Basic Life Support.
• Ability to perform technical medical skills with high accuracy; handle emotional/medical needs of victims; maintain professionalism.
• Ability to lead and direct other personnel; teach and supervise.
• Follow oral and written instructions and orders; maintain professional attitude; establish effective relationships.
• Maintain knowledge in emergency medicine and attend continuing education to keep annual certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide and direct fast, efficient Basic Life Support to ill or injured individuals.
• Recognize medical emergencies and perform differential diagnosis.
• Perform critical physical examinations.
• Direct the work of first responders at the scene.
• File standardized patient care reports for hospitals and billing.
• Maintain communication with on-duty physicians for orders.
• Operate emergency vehicles safely and transport patients to care facilities.
• Maintain and clean equipment; ensure proper documentation of patient information.
