Job summary

The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a compassionate Special Education Teacher (SPED Teacher) to join our full-time, school-based team in Escondido, CA. You will support students with diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs and help them achieve academic and personal success in an inclusive classroom.

As part of your role, you will collaborate with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to create individualized learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid California SPED teaching credential (Mild/Mod, AUT and ELA authorization).
• Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Experience teaching elementary and middle school students.
• ASD and ELA experience.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with families, educators, and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IEPs based on student needs and goals.
• Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse disabilities.
• Monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies to support achievement.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and document student performance.
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate with families about goals.
• Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment.
• Apply evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies.
• Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal SPED requirements.
