Responsibilities

• Plan and instruct students on District/state curricula using integrated or direct-service approaches.
• Modify/adapt lessons to meet individual IEP goals and needs.
• Assess progress using standardized methods and adapt tests or environment as needed.
• Review progress with teams, maintain records, and develop intervention strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, assistants, and specialists to address student needs.
• Participate in problem solving/intervention teams for learning or behavior issues.
• Document student progress for IEP reports and communications to parents.
• Communicate progress with parents and students in writing and verbally.
• Create a safe, positive learning environment modeled to students.
• Assign/advise tasks to teacher assistants and provide regular feedback.
• Participate in building/district teams and act as liaison to staff.
• Enforce school policies and collaborate with staff and parents.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and school improvement activities.
• Attend events outside regular hours such as orientations or conferences.
