Job summary

The teacher will collaborate with the Special Services team and school staff to deliver instruction and assessments aligned with state standards.

The role requires Oklahoma certification in the subject area taught, a Bachelor's degree, and commitment to professional development and student safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze and interpret written information.
• Skill in writing required reports/correspondence.
• Ability to present information orally and respond to questions.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply to practical situations.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Knowledge of special education laws, policies and procedures; technological literacy.

Responsibilities

• Teaches district approved curriculum using diverse instructional techniques to maximize time on task.
• Sets clear short- and long-term objectives; communicates them to students.
• Collaborates with peers on planning, data analysis, and district initiatives.
• Ensures student mastery through projects, assignments and assessments.
• Participates in district professional development aligned to state and district initiatives.
• Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy.
• Protects students, equipment, and facilities; maintains safe classroom environment.
• Develops and differentiates lesson plans to meet student needs.
• Communicates with parents inside and outside contract day.
• Performs duties including co-curricular and extracurricular tasks as assigned.
