Job summary

ReNEW Schools in Hobart, IN is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to assist teachers in meeting students' individualized needs and implementing instructional activities. You will help with classroom management, supervision, and data recording under supervision.

Eligibility includes 2 years of college (60 credit hours) or an associate degree, ParaPro per Indiana Dept. of Ed, ability to lift 50 pounds, and reliable attendance. Fluency in English required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of college (60 credit hours) or an associate degree or HS diploma with ParaPro.
• Capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds with two-person lift or other appropriate methods.
• Demonstrate ability to follow directions.
• Assist in implementing an student's IEP under supervision of the teacher.
• Demonstrate flexibility in educational environments.
• Must be able to read and speak English.
• Regular attendance and punctuality required.

Responsibilities

• Implement instructional activities as developed by the teacher.
• Follow the established classroom management system.
• Maintain records and data as directed by the teacher.
• Supervise students - bus monitoring, lunchroom, playground, etc.
• Assist students with feeding, personal and hygiene care.
• Follow therapy plans under the direction of therapists and teachers.
• Adapt to changing needs of students.
• Maintain confidentiality of ALL student information.
