Job summary

The PATH School in Indianapolis is seeking dedicated teachers who align with our mission to nurture scholars’ academic and social-emotional growth. Teachers engage students with culturally responsive pedagogy, build strong relationships with families, and strive for high academic outcomes.

Responsibilities include planning, delivering instruction in varied settings, using data to inform instruction, administering assessments, and collaborating with staff to support every scholar’s development.

Qualifications

  • Valid Indiana Teaching License or seeking reciprocation (Required).
  • Bachelor’s degree (Required).
  • Pass a criminal background check (Required).
  • The ability to develop caring relationships with scholars and families.
  • Experience in analyzing student data and using data to inform instruction.
  • Possess strong knowledge and passion for content areas: English/Language Arts, Mathematics, and Phonics.
  • Excellent communication, superior listening skills, organizational skills, and decision‑making ability.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with scholars, families, administrators, and PATH team members.
  • Display an understanding of The PATH School's vision, mission, and core values.
  • Invest in the learners’ well‑being, health, and safety, physically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Explore resources, materials, tools, and information to support classroom instruction and planning.
  • Provide direct instruction in whole‑class, small‑group, and individual settings.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to students.
  • Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning.
  • Complete assessments, reports, grading, planning, and conferences with students, staff, and families.
  • Administer standardized tests and interpret results to determine student strengths and needs.
  • Use culturally responsive pedagogy and curriculum resources to present material effectively.
  • Ensure proper implementation of Behavioral supports and 504 programs.
  • Communicate with parents regularly to discuss progress and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records as required.
  • Manage scholar behavior and maintain discipline per school rules.
  • Perform administrative duties such as hall/cafeteria monitoring and bus duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
