Job summary
Whitmore Lake Public Schools in Whitmore Lake, MI is seeking a Special Education Teacher for middle school to provide resource services and support students with IEPs. You will collaborate with staff, students, and families to ensure individualized programming and an exceptional, personalized education.
The caseload includes students with autism, emotional impairments, learning disabilities, and other health impairments.
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan teacher’s certificate with Special Education endorsement (preference for 3 years experience and Teacher Consultant status).
- Ability to work with older children in a cross-categorical setting using push-in and pull-out services.
- Experience with students with emotional impairments and autism.
- Experience with consulting in a general education setting.
- Experience with behavior management and positive behavior supports.
- Experience with curriculum adaptations.
Responsibilities
- Provide resource services to support students with IEPs.
- Collaborate with staff, students, and parents to ensure appropriate programming.
- Include time in general education classrooms for inclusion and pull-out services.
