Job summary

TrulyHired is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the Wilson County Schools (pending budget approval) with a 200-day schedule to provide specialized academic and physical training to students with special needs.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Tennessee teaching license with endorsement, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to conduct IEP meetings, maintain records, and collaborate with the Building Principal.

Qualifications

• Holds a valid Tennessee teaching license with endorsement.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Meets health and physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plans curriculum and prepares lessons and materials considering individual student needs.
• Prepares for assigned classes and shows evidence of preparation to supervisor.
• Devises special teaching tools and equipment for instruction.
• Provides intensive and systematic instruction tailored to each student.
• Evaluates students using screening measures and records progress.
• Maintains classroom order and monitors behavior; implements behavior plans.
• Plans and conducts IEP meetings with parents and writes IEPs.
