Requirements include NJ School Guidance Counselor certification, a BA degree, and at least three years of teaching experience, plus a background check and legal status documentation.

Qualifications

• New Jersey Certificate School Guidance Counselor is required.
• Bachelor of Arts Degree is required.
• Three years of teaching experience is required.
• Experience with Early Childhood school population is preferred.
• Criminal background check clearance is required.
• Approved physical examination and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status required.

Responsibilities

• To conduct orientation programs for all new pupils and discuss policies.
• To implement individual and group counseling programs and evaluate effectiveness.
• To assist pupils in understanding themselves and their potential through counseling.
• To participate in the administration of testing programs as directed.
• To provide information to pupils about career, college, and scholarship resources.
