Berkley School District invites applications for the High School Varsity Wrestling Associate Head Coach. This role, located at Berkley High School for the 2026-27 winter season, directs the girls' wrestling program, plans practices, and coordinates weigh-ins and safety protocols.

The candidate will recruit athletes, manage budgets, schedule events, and support college recruitment efforts, reporting to athletic leadership within the district.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Demonstrated coaching experience in wrestling is essential.
• Current CPR/AED certification is required.
• CAP Level 1 or willingness to complete within 60 days of hire.
• OPC certification or willingness to complete prior to first weigh-in.
• Concussion awareness training compliant with Michigan law.
• Ability to pass fingerprint-based background check at applicant expense.
• Availability for full season including preseason, practices, events and postseason.

Responsibilities

• Direct all aspects of the girls' wrestling program, including roster development and practice planning.
• Schedule events and manage weigh-ins and certification processes.
• Ensure safety protocols and skin infection controls during practices and matches.
• Recruit and retain female athletes and coordinate with feeder programs.
