Job summary

Benzie Central Schools is seeking a Strong Beginnings Assistant Teacher for Homestead Hills Elementary in Benzonia, MI. The role reports to the Early Childhood Director and supports the Lead Teacher in delivering developmentally appropriate instruction.

The position emphasizes building relationships with young learners, utilizing best practices, and collaborating with families and the school community. Salary range is $15.00–$18.00 per hour, with medical/dental/vision benefits available.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• High School/Trade School degree preferred.
• Associates or CDA required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in all classroom functions.
• Maintain focus on developmental needs of young learners.
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Support non-academic needs through the student support network to remove barriers to learning.
• Encourage and monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress as required by law and district policy.
• Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.
• Communicate information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents.
