Southern Indiana YMCA is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the lead teacher in delivering age-appropriate activities that foster social, physical, and intellectual growth. You will follow state regulations and NECPA guidelines while maintaining a safe, clean classroom and clear communication with families.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and CPR/First Aid certification, plus strong teamwork and dependable attendance.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with parents and staff.
• Strong understanding of NECPA Ethical Code of Conduct and state licensing rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher with implementing activities to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
• Follow state regulations pertinent to the classroom and care of children.
• Maintain classroom safety, hygiene, and proper medication procedures.
• Document incidents and communicate promptly with parents and staff.
• Prepare materials for daily planned activities and support lesson plans.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and center events.
