BrightPath Human Services in Latrobe, PA is seeking a Direct Support Professional to assist adults 18+ with intellectual disabilities, autism, or mental health diagnoses in daily living, skill development, and community activities. You will de-escalate crises, monitor progress, and collaborate with families and the team to promote well‑being.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, reliable transportation, and a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in human services or caregiving preferred (paid training provided).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Obtain DSP Certification (company paid) within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household tasks.
• Support individuals in building independent living skills and engaging in community activities.
• Monitor, document, and report progress, behaviors, and incidents in accordance with program guidelines.
• De-escalate crisis situations and remain calm during emergencies.
• Administer medications and follow prescribed healthcare plans.
• Promote and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals served.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families/guardians.
• Work assigned overtime as needed to meet program requirements.
