Northridge Local Schools is seeking a dedicated Girls 7th Grade Basketball Coach at Northridge Middle School to lead and develop a competitive middle school program.

The ideal candidate will foster athletic excellence, sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth while coordinating practices, games, travel, and offseason training.

Valid Ohio coaching permit or ability to obtain it, plus required certifications, are preferred. Commitment to student-athlete success is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching at middle school or higher.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and strategy.
• Ability to mentor student-athletes and foster inclusion.

Position Summary

Northridge Middle School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and student-centered Girls 7th Grade Basketball Coach to lead and develop a competitive middle school basketball program. The ideal candidate will foster athletic excellence, sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth among student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct all varsity basketball practices, games, and team activities
• Develop and implement offensive and defensive strategies
• Promote a positive team culture emphasizing discipline, respect, and accountability
• Monitor academic progress and support student-athlete success in the classroom
• Supervise and collaborate with assistant coaches and program staff
• Ensure compliance with all Ohio school athletic association rules and school policies
• Coordinate scheduling, travel, equipment, and program logistics
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and administration
• Organize offseason training, conditioning, and skill development opportunities

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience (middle school or higher preferred)
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and player development
• Ability to mentor and motivate high school student-athletes
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful team environment

Requirements

• Valid Ohio coaching permit or ability to obtain one
• Completion of required certifications (CPR, First Aid, concussion training, etc.)
• Successful background check in accordance with Ohio law
• Availability for practices, games, and team events (including evenings and weekends)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior coaching experience
• Experience working within a school-based athletic program
• Background in strength and conditioning or athletic development

Compensation

• Stipend based on experience and district pay scale
