An established industry player is seeking dedicated volunteers for an Employment Training opportunity. This role focuses on empowering refugees by providing essential job readiness and digital literacy training. Volunteers will engage directly with clients, helping them navigate the job market in the U.S. and develop vital skills such as resume writing and interview preparation. This is a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in coaching and outreach while making a significant impact in the lives of newcomers. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping people survive and rebuild their lives. Operating in over 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities, IRC restores safety, dignity, and hope to millions.
The IRC in Los Angeles provides job readiness, digital literacy, and financial literacy training to newcomers and clients with work authorization. The Employment Training Panel aims to help refugees achieve self-sufficiency through employment, retaining jobs for over 90 days or 500 hours. Volunteers will assist the Workforce Literacy Program Specialist in managing the panel and supporting clients to secure their first jobs in the U.S. on a 1:1 basis.
