Job summary

Opportunity Partners, Inc. is seeking an Employment Specialist II to coordinate and support our people with disabilities toward independent community employment. You will help individuals grow skills and achieve independence while aligning with their Employment Plan.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Wage: $19.50 to $20.50 per hour, based on experience. Join a mission-driven team in Minneapolis and make a meaningful difference.

Qualifications

• A designated coordinator may have a baccalaureate degree in a field related to human services, education, or health and one year of full-time work experience.
• A designated coordinator may have an associate degree in a field related to human services, education, or health and two years of full-time work experience.
• A designated coordinator may have a diploma in a field related to human services, education, or health from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of full-time work experience.
• A minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services, education, or health and four years full-time work experience and supervised by staff meeting the above qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and help support people with disabilities with independent employment in the community.
• Assist individuals with securing community-based employment according to their preferences and Employment Plan.
• Assess and document the need for support/training and provide on-site training.
• Provide case management and coordinate services with internal and IDT members.
• Develop and coordinate a support plan highlighting employment strengths for independence.
• Market services to employers and referral sources to obtain placements.
• Complete intake and annual paperwork to meet billing requirements.
• Assist people with disabilities develop work skills in real-life situations.

Valid Driver’s license

Education

Baccalaureate degree in a field related to human services, education, or health and one year of full-time work experience

Associate degree in a field related to human services, education, or health and two years of full-time work experience

Diploma in a field related to human services, education, or health from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of full-time work experience
