Tandym-Group is seeking an Employment Specialist for a Men’s Shelter program in Brooklyn, NY. Position starts ASAP with a Monday–Friday schedule and on-site setting.

Responsibilities include counseling, assessments, and leading workshops, while connecting clients to resources and maintaining DHS CARES documentation. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in employment services and a High School Diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Maintain client documentation (DHS CARES) and progress notes.

Responsibilities

• Provide employment counseling, vocational assessments, and job readiness support
• Develop and lead employment workshops and training sessions
• Connect clients with external resources (employment, education, housing, healthcare)
• Conduct intake, assessments, and maintain client documentation (DHS CARES)
• Monitor client progress and assist with benefits and entitlements
• Build relationships with community organizations and employers
