Job summary

MGA Entertainment in Los Angeles, CA seeks an experienced Employment Attorney to lead legal support for in-house employment and commercial practice.

You will advise HR and management, draft and negotiate agreements, and coordinate with outside counsel on litigation and immigration matters.

Candidates should have a JD, a 4-year degree, and 6–10 years of employment law experience, with strong communication and independent work abilities.

Qualifications

• Must have a JD from an accredited school of law.
• Must have a 4 year undergraduate degree.
• 6-10 years of experience as a successful employment attorney.

Responsibilities

• Advise Human Resources and other Management on employment and employee relations matters.
• Manage outside counsel in employment litigation.
• Draft, negotiate and manage employment, independent contractor and vendor agreements.
• Manage outside counsel on immigration matters.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Time Utilization

1. Advise Human Resources and other Management 30%

regarding employment and employee relations matters,

including pre-litigation dispute resolution.

1. Manage outside counsel in employment litigation 10%

1. Draft, negotiate and manage employment, independent contracter

and vendor agreements. 10%

1. Manage outside counsel on immigration matters 10%

1. Draft and negotiate commercial agreements 30%

1. Other commericial projects and assignments as needed. 10%

Education/Experience:

• Must have a JD from an accredited school of law
• Must have a 4 year undergraduate degree
• 6-10 years’ experience as a successful employment attorney

Authority:

• Reports to the General Counsel

Key Result Areas:

1. Knowledge- Maintain Expertise and Advise on current state of the law regarding California statutory requirements and restrictions.
2. Agreements- Draft, execute, and manage the performance of Employment, Consultant and Vendor agreements
3. Policies- Update and Maintain company employment-related documents and policies.
4. All other duties as assigned and/or needed.

Salary:

$175,000 - $200,000 /year
