Under direction, is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources office within a client department by interpreting, administering, and ensuring compliance with labor law and City of San Antonio policies, procedures, and programs. Assesses and anticipates Human Resources needs of the assigned department and proactively communicates the needs of the client department throughout Human Resources. Acts as an internal consultant to client departments' leadership team to assist in achievement of their strategic goals. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment. May exercise direct supervision over assigned staff. This advertisement will be used to fill one of the following Employee Relations positions:Employee Relations Business Partner (salary range:$70,666.96 - $106,000.44 Annually) orEmployee Relations Analyst (salary range:$50,221.86 - $75,332.92 Annually)Work Location:Varies based upon client departmentWork Schedule:7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday- FridayAll Employee Relations Business Partner positions, regardless of department assignment, are unclassified positions and have no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. These positions are likewise subject to at-will employment status and can be terminated at any time for any reason. Department assignments for Employee Relations Representatives are subject to change, depending on business needs.
Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university. Applicants selected for employment with the City of San Antonio in this position must receive satisfactory results from pre-employment drug testing and background checks. If required for the position, a physical, motor vehicle record evaluation, and additional background checks may be conducted.
