The Employee Relations Consultant engages in a variety of employee relations issues and responsibilities. The Employee Relations Consultant supports a positive work environment by providing guidance to both management and employees on key labor laws such as the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. Reporting to the Manager of Employee Relations, this role involves mediating disputes to ensure fairness, assisting managers with performance challenges, and helping to boost employee satisfaction and maintain organizational integrity.
Bachelors (Required)
Complexity of Work: Compliance: Understanding of HR principles and labor laws. Core Competencies: Exceptional active listening, verbal and written communication, counseling, problem-solving, conflict resolution skills, and data analysis skills. Ability to manage sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism. Case Management: Capable of managing multiple cases simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail in record keeping. Relationship Building: Ability to build rapport, maintain collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders, and communicate sensitive information clearly and actively (verbal and written). Adaptability: Proven ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced or high‑stress environment. Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using current office software, technology, and relevant computer applications. Familiarity with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and case management software. Required Work Experience: Two (2) years of experience in Human Resources/Employee Relations. Other Information: Additional Certification Info: HRCI or SHRM Certification preferred.
