Job summary

Bering Straits Native Corporation (BSNC) is seeking an Employee Relations Specialist in Anchorage, Alaska to guide and support employees and managers on HR matters. You will conduct investigations, ensure policy compliance, and stay current on employment laws affecting the organization.

Preferred candidates hold an HR-related degree and 2–3 years of relevant experience in HR or law, with strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate’s degree in HR, business administration, or related discipline (four-year college preferred).
• 2–3 years of relevant employee relations experience in HR or a legal firm as a baseline.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely guidance to employees and managers on sensitive HR matters.
• Partner with management to maintain positive working relationships and mitigate disputes.
• Investigate employee complaints and potential policy violations impartially and promptly.
• Interpret and reinforce HR policies to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and best practices.
• Develop and deliver training and workforce development programs for staff and leaders.
• Analyze exit feedback and present trends to support retention and organizational improvements.
• Demonstrate professionalism that aligns with BSNC’s mission, values, and standards.
