Job summary

Midwest Fire Equipment & Repair is seeking a skilled Plumbing Technician to support the assembly and installation of pumps and plumbing systems for custom fire trucks. This hands-on role requires knowledge of pipefitting, welding, and basic plumbing principles in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Work is performed using blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accuracy, with opportunities for on-the-job training in a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical school or college training in plumbing or pipefitting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pipefitting, welding and basic plumbing systems.
• TIG welding certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and work instructions.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Strong communication skills; able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Install heat exchangers with valves as needed.
• Install master drain, primer control, pump shift, discharges, rear and front bumper connections, bleeders and auto drains.
• Weld pipes as needed to complete installations.
• Connect lines to gauge panels.
• Install tank level displays.
• Read and interpret truck specification documents.
• Operate forklifts, cranes and standard shop equipment safely.
• Follow company, state and OSHA safety procedures at all times.
