Job summary

Midwest Fire Equipment & Repair is seeking a skilled Painter to prepare and finish manufactured fire apparatus components, truck bodies, cabs and related parts. This hands-on role includes surface preparation, priming and finish painting while working safely and efficiently as part of the production team.

The position operates Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Pay ranges from $20.00 to $35.00 per hour depending on experience, with employee ownership and a comprehensive benefits package as part

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational painting training preferred.
• Ability to use paint equipment and basic hand/power tools.
• Ability to read work orders, drawings, procedures and safety rules.
• Dependable attendance and commitment to quality and safety.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding welds, sanding, filling defects and applying primer.
• Tape, mask and caulk interior and exterior areas for painting readiness.
• Operate paint equipment and spray guns to apply primer and finish coats.
• Perform buffing and other finishing work to ensure a high-quality product.
• Read and follow work orders, truck specifications and drawings.
