Job summary

First State Bank and Trust in Monticello, IL seeks a full-time Bank Teller to join our customer-focused team. You’ll handle routine transactions, educate customers on products, and help build lasting relationships in our community.

Located in our Monticello branch lobby with hours 8:00-5:00, Monday–Friday and rotating Saturdays 8:00-12:00, this role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and proactive fraud awareness as part of our 100% employee-owned bank.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in banking or customer service preferred.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine teller transactions within established guidelines, including cashing checks and deposits.
• Accurately count, verify, and handle large volumes of cash during daily transactions.
• Provide great customer service, greet customers, listen, address inquiries, and handle complaints empathetically.
• Educate customers about bank products and services; cross-sell where appropriate.
• Safeguard customers' personal information and maintain confidentiality.
• Remain alert to potential fraud and maintain security procedures.
