Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. is seeking an Employee in Charge (EIC) in Tyler, TX to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

The role requires extensive travel (50%–85%), strong communication, and a track record in railroad safety. Training and certifications may be required. NRSS offers comprehensive safety services nationwide.

Qualifications

• Requires proficiency with tablets, smartphones and communication tools to coordinate train movements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities is required.
• Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods, sometimes months at a time.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' railroad industry experience, preferably in Maintenance of Way (MOW).
• Ability to successfully complete Federal, Client and/or Company Training as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety: set up derails, track signs and safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and document any rule violations.
• Coordinate activities at the job-site with crew and dispatchers.
• Maintain radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to relay worksite safety status.
• Conduct mandatory, clear, concise pre-job briefings with all crew before track entry.
• Enforce Railroad, State and Federal policies.
