Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks an Employee in Charge (EIC) to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

Locations: Lubbock, TX with extensive travel, often months at a time. A High School Diploma and a valid driver’s license are required. Proficiency with tablets and mobile communication tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with tablets, smartphones and coordination tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide On-Track Safety such as setup of derails, track signs, and other safety tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and report any rule violations.
• Provide job-site coordination.
• Radio contact with Dispatchers and Train Crews to communicate worksite safety status.
• Conduct mandatory clear, concise, and thorough job briefings with all crew members before entering the track.
• Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking an Employee in Charge (EIC) to provide essential on-track safety services for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail industry partners.

Job Requirements

• Requires proficiency in the use of tablets, smartphones, and communication tools to support coordination of train movements.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to travel for extended periods of time; sometimes months at a time.
• Valid Driver's License
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a railroad company preferably in the maintenance of way department
• Ability to successfully complete Federal, Client, and/or Company Specific Training.
