Empire Innovation Professor, Quantum Computing

Position Title: Empire Innovation Professor, Quantum Computing

Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) invites candidates for a tenure‑track EIP position. Candidates should hold the rank of Full Professor at application time; strong Associate Professors will also be considered. The successful individual will build a world‑class research and educational program, emphasizing team research, impactful publications, significant funding, and effective teaching.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead cutting‑edge research in quantum computing theory, algorithms, networking, and applications.
  • Teach graduate and undergraduate courses and mentor students at all levels.
  • Collaborate with faculty in Physics, Mathematics, and Materials Design & Innovation departments.
  • Adopt inclusive teaching practices and support a diverse academic community.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Full‑Professor level research portfolio with excellence in research, teaching, service, and mentoring.
  • Internationally recognized scholar evidenced by peer‑reviewed publications, citations, and sustained externally funded research.

Preferred Qualifications include additional expertise in quantum‑safe cryptography, quantum networking, and experience leading large research teams.
