Job summary

ATX Learning is seeking a Special Education Assistant to support students in the classroom and related activities within TCAPS Montessori. This on-site role reports to the principal or designated teacher and involves assisting with academics and daily living skills.

The position requires a high school diploma (preferred with college credits) and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, maintain confidentiality, and follow district policies. Training and field trip participation are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to care for, supervise, and nurture children.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and assist with physical activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Special Education students in the classroom.
• Support students in categorical classrooms and during PE, music, art, lunch, and recess.
• Participate in planning meetings and IEPCs as requested.
• Assist with small and large group non-direct instruction.
• Accompany students on field trips and monitor behavior per district policy.
