Job summary

Service Corporation International in Elmhurst, IL seeks a Family Service Counselor to serve grieving families by presenting cremation, burial, and pre-need services with empathy and accuracy.

You will generate leads, obtain referrals, and build lasting relationships while collaborating with funeral directors and staff to provide high-quality service. Evening/weekend availability and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Customer service and sales experience is preferred.
• Strong communication and listening skills are required.
• Ability to engage families with empathy and professionalism.
• Willingness to work evenings/weekends and drive as needed.
• Must pass internal presentation certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead generation and referrals through family relationships.
• Explain and present services to families and referred clients.
• Build trust-based relationships to earn referrals and protect families.
• Collaborate with funeral directors and staff for seamless service.
• Prepare for appointments with professionalism and attention to detail.
• Respond promptly and respectfully to family inquiries.
