Job summary

Community of Hope in Washington, DC, is seeking an Emotional Wellness Therapist specializing in addictions, offering counseling and psychotherapy to individuals and families at the Conway Health and Resource Center in Southwest, DC or the Family Health and Birth Center in Northeast, DC.

The role requires licensure (LGSW/LICSW or LGPC/LPC) with addiction treatment experience, BLS, and at least 1 year of SUD therapy. Travel between sites is required; the position is hybrid in DC.

Qualifications

• Must have LGSW/LICSW or LGPC/LPC licensure with addiction treatment experience.
• BLS Certification is required.
• Minimum 1 year of Substance Use Disorder therapy experience.
• Ability to travel between sites.
• Strong knowledge of substance abuse treatment principles, counseling techniques, assessment & treatment planning.
• Experience facilitating SUD and co-occurring group therapy and psychoeducation on recovery.
• Ability to accurately complete assessment and diagnostic forms in the medical record.

Responsibilities

• Provide addiction counseling and psychotherapy for clients with SUD or co-occurring disorders.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Interview and diagnose new clients with complex issues related to alcohol and drugs.
• Complete screening tools and monitor symptoms; update treatment plans regularly.
• Monitor progress and adapt treatment plans at required intervals.
• Provide crisis intervention per licensing and COH guidelines.
