Job summary

Emhance is hiring a Financial Analyst to build the operating model from the ground up, run forecasts, and turn operating data into actionable insights for pricing, hiring, and spend decisions.

You will operate in a private-equity style environment with structured reporting cadences and leadership-facing analyses, expanding your impact across portfolio companies and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, corporate FP&A, or startup finance.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets; ability to build a three-statement model from a blank tab.
• Strong financial modeling instincts with clean structure and documented assumptions.
• Comfort working from incomplete data and forming defensible views.
• Familiarity with SaaS or usage‑based metrics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain operating model including 3-statement model and rolling forecasts.
• Support annual budget process and update forecasts as actuals arrive.
• Produce monthly variance analysis with driver commentary.
• Create scenario analyses to frame decisions and test runway.
• Develop KPI and unit-economics reporting: CAC, payback, LNR, gross margin.
• Stand up FP&A infrastructure and data hygiene for trustworthy reporting.
• Conduct ad hoc analysis for pricing, hiring, vendor decisions, and go/no-go calls.
• Support fundraising and diligence with projections and data room materials.
• Provide analytics support to portfolio companies as needed.
• Collaborate with go-to-market and product teams to translate metrics to financial impact.

The Role

Emhance is hiring a Financial Analyst to be the analytical engine of the company’s finance function. This is a builder’s role, not a maintenance role: you’ll construct the operating model from the ground up, run the forecast, and turn operating data into the analysis leadership uses to make decisions about pricing, hiring, and where to spend the next dollar.

You’ll work in a private-equity-style operating environment with structured reporting cadences, which means your work is read — by company leadership, the board, and outside investors. Operating Problems Well Beyond What a Single-company Seat Offers.

This is a hands‑on analytical role rather than an accounting role — you’ll partner closely with the Controller, who owns the books, the close, and the cash position.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain the company operating model, including the three-statement model, 13‑week cash forecast, and rolling 12‑month forecast
• Support the annual budget process and keep the rolling forecast current as actuals land and assumptions change
• Produce monthly variance analysis against plan, with commentary that explains the drivers rather than restating the numbers
• Build scenario and sensitivity analysis — base, upside, and downside — to frame decisions and stress‑test runway
• Build and maintain the KPI and unit-economics reporting layer: customer acquisition cost, payback, retention and net revenue retention, gross margin by cost line
• Stand up FP&A infrastructure — model architecture, reporting templates, and the data hygiene that makes both trustworthy
• Run ad hoc analysis to inform pricing, hiring plans, vendor decisions, and go/no‑go calls
• Contribute analysis and supporting schedules to the monthly and quarterly reporting package
• Support fundraising and diligence processes with financial projections, supporting analysis, and data room materials
• Provide financial analysis and modeling support to other portfolio companies within the investor’s network as needed
• Partner with go‑to‑market and product teams to translate operating metrics into financial impact

What We’re Looking For

• 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, consulting, corporate FP&A, or a startup finance seat
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets — you can build a three‑statement model from a blank tab, and your work is auditable by someone who didn’t build it
• Sound financial modeling instincts: clean structure, documented assumptions, and integrity checks built in rather than bolted on
• Comfort working from incomplete data and forming a defensible view anyway
• Intellectual honesty about what is sourced versus estimated — you flag assumptions rather than bury them
• Familiarity with SaaS or usage‑based business metrics is a plus
• SQL, BI tooling (e.g., Looker, Metabase), or other data exposure is a plus
• Ability to present analysis clearly to non‑finance stakeholders and senior audiences
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or another quantitative field
