Job summary

The Program Manager for Emerging Technologies at FirstEnergy Corp leads the development, execution, and oversight of EmT programs across FE operating companies, including BESS and DER integration. This role ensures delivery within approved scope, cost, and schedule while aligning with regulatory requirements and enterprise strategy.

The preferred reporting location is FirstEnergy Headquarters in Akron, OH, but the role can be located at any FirstEnergy location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related discipline required; minimum 5 years utility experience.
• Alternative: High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of related utility distribution experience.
• 5 years of project management experience or equivalent required.
• Strong budgets, schedules, risks, and performance metrics management.
• Experience with regulatory environments and/or utility programs preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end program management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
• Define program scope, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resource plans with cross-functional teams.
• Manage program execution within approved scope, cost, and schedule to achieve business outcomes.
• Monitor performance, identify risks, resolve issues, and manage escalations.
• Coordinate stakeholders across Regulatory, Engineering, IT, Legal, Strategy and external partners.
• Support regulatory filings, discovery responses, and reporting to commissions.
• Track realization of program benefits and business outcomes.
• Develop and deliver leadership updates, communications, and stakeholder engagement plans.
