Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York is seeking an Associate Engineer (1H) in the Analysis Team of Distribution Engineering's System Design department to gain hands-on experience in distribution system analysis, grid design, engineering standards, and renewable interconnections.

You will work on studies using PVL, SINCAL, CYME, CAPE, and CYMTCC, support design, reliability, and emergency response, and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver safe, modern grid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 2+ years related experience including 1 year engineering work experience.
• Knowledge of substations, Underground Network and Overhead Electrical system, required.
• Experience using power system analytical software (PVL, SINCAL, CAPE, CYME, CYMTCC) for load flow, fault analysis, etc.; Relay Protection knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with customers, support organizations, and management.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineers, Senior Engineers, or other Engineering & Planning personnel in their tasks.
• Support design, upgrade, and maintenance of the electric distribution system through engineering analysis and project assignments.
• Develop, review, and maintain engineering specifications, drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• Conduct engineering studies using load flow tools and develop solutions and recommendations.
• Perform contingency analysis and assess system performance after distribution events.
