Job summary

WSP in Kansas City is seeking an Early Career Geologist to join our Earth & Environment Team. You will participate in environmental projects, including field investigations, sampling of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and report preparation.

The role offers a mix of field and office work with opportunities to grow and gain needed certifications, under guidance from senior staff.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Geology or related discipline.
• 0–1 year of geology experience in environmental field.
• Project and client management experience in subsurface site characterization.
• Experience in data evaluation, remediation planning, and regulatory reporting.
• Ability to write letters and regulatory reports with assistance as needed.
• Strong Word/Excel skills for letters, reports and tables.
• Able to pass HAZWOPER training and wear a respirator.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct subsurface site investigations with drilling and logging.
• Perform soil, groundwater, surface water and air sampling.
• Tabulate and evaluate investigation data; assist in report writing.
• Balance office and field work; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Complete training on assigned tasks; support project objectives.
