Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electric Transmission Junior Siting Analyst in the United States to support siting across planning, routing, permitting, and stakeholder engagement for transmission projects. You will assist with reports, exhibits, and project trackers, and collaborate across engineering, environmental, regulatory, real estate, legal, and stakeholder-engagement teams.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in environmental planning/GIS, a relevant bachelor's degree, and proficiency with MS Office

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, geography, environmental science, engineering, natural resources, real estate, public policy, or a related discipline.
• 2-4 years of experience in environmental planning, permitting, infrastructure, utilities, GIS, or land use.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and exposure to ArcGIS or other mapping platforms.
• Willingness to travel periodically for site visits and project meetings.

Responsibilities

• Support electric transmission siting activities, corridor/route evaluations, and substation/interconnection site screening from early feasibility through development.
• Conduct desktop research, field reconnaissance, constraint screening, and comparative route analyses using GIS, aerial imagery, technical studies, and public data.
• Coordinate with utility clients, engineers, environmental specialists, survey crews, real estate teams, regulators, municipalities, and community stakeholders.
• Assist in preparing siting study reports, routing memoranda, permitting strategies, exhibits, presentations, and project trackers.
• Maintain accurate project records, correspondence logs, decision histories, data responses, and document repositories.
