The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) in Lamar, Missouri is seeking an Emergency Maintenance Equipment Operator to perform snow removal duties under supervision. Wage rates for emergency workers varies from $20.00/hour-$22.37/hour depending on previous employment with MoDOT. This position is also eligible for an emergency operations adjustment of $3 per hour every time you are called in except for scheduled training.

What You'll Do
  • Operates vehicles to plow snow and spread ice control materials or to warn oncoming traffic. Cleans and performs routine maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings and grounds. Performs other responsibilities as required or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with no air brake restrictions and interstate status (either Excepted Interstate [EI] or Non-Excepted Interstate [NI]).
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen
Special Working Conditions
  • Job may require overtime and night time work.
  • Job requires outdoor work that involves exposure to physical hazards, health and safety risks, and/or adverse or otherwise undesirable characteristics in the environment, including risk of physical injury from carrying out duties in heavy traffic areas, on or near heavy equipment or machinery, and with hazardous chemicals or materials
