Job summary

MedVet Medical & Cancer Centers for Pets is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our fast-paced ER team in California. The role involves frontline patient assessment, anesthesia monitoring, and collaboration with veterinarians and care teams to deliver timely, high-quality emergency care.

Ideal candidates will be a State Registered Veterinary Technician with emergency experience, strong calculation skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred.
• Prior veterinary experience required, previous emergency experience desired.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRI, unit conversions).
• Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information as necessary.
• Evaluate incoming patients and prioritize based on assessment.
• Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans and nursing care concerns.
• Provide client education including home care, medications, and wellness updates on hospitalized patients.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures.
• Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside labs.

We are looking for: Emergency Veterinary Technician

What you’ll do:

Who you are:
