Job summary

PetVet Care Centers is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian to join as Medical Director at our O’Fallon, MO location. The role leads clinical care, collaborates with a team of veterinarians, technicians, and staff, and reports to the Regional Manager.

The hospital operates 24/7 with a strong focus on compassionate, high-quality care. The successful candidate will have a DVM/VMD, state license, DEA registration, and at least 1 year in emergency practice, with excellent communication and surgical

Qualifications

• Veterinarian degree (DVM or VMD) from an accredited college or university.
• Current State Veterinary License
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained
• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary emergency practice
• Excellent diagnostic, clinical, surgical and dental skills
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care
• Effective communication with medical staff and pet owners
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive patient exams and medical work-ups.
• Client communication and education.
• Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Pharmacy duties including prescribing medications and controlled substances compliance.
• Promote teamwork and staff efficiency.
• Collaborate with Hospital Manager on weekly priorities.
• Evaluate and monitor hospital protocols daily.
• Attend daily rounds when possible to uphold high standards.
• Participate in practice management updates and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
