Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC) Kalamazoo is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant for our swing shift to support a fast-paced emergency team. You’ll assist technicians and veterinarians, help with patient care, and keep rooms and equipment ready for every emergency.
You’ll interact with pets and clients with empathy, help maintain cleanliness, and contribute to team meetings and hospital improvement initiatives. Growth opportunities, mentorship, and CE support are offered.
Make a Difference When It Matters Most.
At Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC), we show up for pets and the people who love them on some of their hardest days.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working as part of a team, and want to make a meaningful impact every shift — this could be your place.
EVCC was created by veterinarians, for veterinarians — and for the communities they serve. Founded by 36 local general practice veterinarians (many still actively involved today), we were built to support the veterinary community, not compete with it.
Our Kalamazoo hospital is our fifth location, and we are proud to bring trusted, emergency-only care to the region.
But what truly defines EVCC isn’t just what we do — it’s how we do it.
We genuinely care about whoever walks through our doors — whether it’s a critical patient, an anxious pet parent, or a teammate who needs support during a tough shift.
Emergency medicine is intense. It’s emotional. It’s unpredictable.
But it’s also deeply meaningful.
You won’t be “just an assistant” here. Your assessment skills, instincts, and voice matter. Our doctors value collaboration. Our leadership team listens. Growth is encouraged, not gatekept.
As a swing shift Veterinary Assistant at our Kalamazoo location, you’ll be a crucial part of our emergency team, you will be providing high-quality, compassionate care during some of the busiest and most unpredictable hours in an emergency veterinary setting. Working typically in the afternoon through late evening, this position bridges the gap between daytime operations and overnight care.
You’ll support veterinary technicians and veterinarians by assisting with patient care, maintaining hospital cleanliness, and ensuring the hospital is stocked and ready for every emergency.
You’ll interact with pets and clients directly, creating positive experiences even during stressful situations, and help ensure every shift runs smoothly.
This role requires confidence, resilience, and heart.
We believe people do their best work when they feel valued and supported.
We’d love to meet you.
