Job summary

Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC) in Elkhart is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Assistant for the swing shift. In this role, you will provide high-quality care in a busy emergency veterinary environment, assist veterinarians and technicians, and create positive experiences for pets and their owners. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to handle animals compassionately, and availability for irregular hours including evenings and weekends. Qualifications

• Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in animal care preferred, but not required.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, emergency environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with patient handling and restraint.
• Clean and sanitize exam rooms and treatment areas according to protocols.
• Monitor patient comfort and report changes in condition to the medical team.
