Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Emergency Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high‑quality veterinary care and possess excellent communication skills to build lasting relationships with clients. You will work alongside experienced veterinarians, technicians, and support staff and will collaborate closely with the Hospital Manager and Regional Director.

Location & Role Details

Located in Tulare‑Kings Veterinary Emergency Services in Visalia, California, the practice operates 365 days a year. The role is an emergency & critical care position with a leadership opportunity available for an experienced veterinarian. A Medical Director stipend will also be offered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups.
  • Client communication and education.
  • Performing diagnostic procedures and surgery.
  • Maintaining accurate medical records.
  • Pharmacy duties such as prescribing medications and following controlled substance protocols.
  • Promoting teamwork and staff efficiency.
  • Working with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations.
  • Evaluating and monitoring protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge.
  • Monitoring cases and attending daily rounds when possible to uphold highest standards.
  • Participating in practice management updates and training at all levels.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications (Required)

  • Ability to perform moderately physically demanding work periodically.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
