Austin Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center (AVES) offers the ER Immerse Training Program for veterinarians pursuing emergency medicine. This 6-month program provides structured mentorship, a competency-based curriculum, and a path to transition into an ER role within AVES.

The program emphasizes communication, professional skills, and life/work integration, with live virtual rounds, specialty rotations, and ongoing mentoring from day one.

Responsibilities

• Dedicated mentorship from day one
• Competency-based curriculum with asynchronous modules and weekly live virtual didactic rounds
• Specialty service rotations to build relationships with specialists and learn how to set client expectations during ER-to-specialty transfers
• Monthly live CE events led by board-certified specialists and certified technicians
• Robust education department contributing to elevating patient care across the hospital
