Job summary

Desort's emergency veterinary practice in Gig Harbor, WA is seeking a Veterinarian to join its emergency care team. This role focuses on urgent and critical cases, with collaboration among specialists and staff.

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) is required; active or eligible WA license; internship in emergency medicine preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply. Competitive compensation and relocation assistance are offered.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
• Active or eligible veterinary license in the state of practice.
• Internship training or experience in emergency medicine preferred; new graduates encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency and critical care patients.
• Perform emergency procedures and surgical interventions within the scope of practice.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress throughout hospitalization.
• Collaborate with specialists, veterinary technicians, and support staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Communicate diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses with clients and referring veterinarians.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
• Participate in case discussions, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Uphold the highest standards of emergency medicine, patient safety, and client service.
