National Veterinary Associates seeks an experienced Emergency Veterinarian for the Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Wichita. This part-time or full-time role offers autonomy within a supportive team and access to advanced facilities in a busy emergency setting.

You will deliver high-quality emergency care, triage, and stabilization, collaborating with in-house specialists and a skilled overnight team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state licensure.
• Completion of rotating internship or experience in emergency medicine preferred.
• Strong communication and client-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for urgent and emergent conditions.
• Provide comprehensive emergency care including triage, hospitalization, and soft tissue surgeries.
• Stabilize critically ill patients using evidence-based medicine.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to ensure compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly with pet owners during stressful situations.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture with mentorship and learning.

In your day-to‑day, you will:

• Deliver high‑quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
• Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, managing hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment, and performing emergency soft tissue surgeries.
• Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.

What You Bring

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
