Job summary

Long Beach Animal Emergency is seeking a Full-Time Day Shift Emergency Veterinarian to join Thrive Pet Healthcare in Long Beach, CA. You’ll deliver real-time care in a fast-paced ER, triage, and work with a collaborative team to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • DVM / VMD degree required and valid state licensure.
  • Active DEA license or eligibility for licensure.

Long Beach Animal Emergency is looking for a Full-Time Day Shift Emergency Veterinarian to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community in Long Beach, CA.

About Long Beach Animal Emergency

Long Beach Animal Emergency offers a collaborative, well-supported ER environment just minutes from the beach in vibrant Long Beach, California. The hospital is staffed by five full-time and two part-time veterinarians, supported by a strong team of technicians and assistants. The team manages both in-hospital and outpatient emergency cases, with opportunities to perform soft-tissue surgery, wound care, abdominal procedures, and endoscopy. With digital radiology, ultrasound, comprehensive in-house lab capabilities, and a culture focused on camaraderie and continued improvement, this is an opportunity to practice high-quality emergency medicine while enjoying everything Southern California has to offer.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an annual PROSAL full-time range starting at $180-220k/year. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. $35k sign on bonus available.

Your Experience & Skills
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • State Veterinary Board License:
    • Active and in good standing for the state of intended employment
    • Obtained prior to start date
  • Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible
  • Experience in emergency medicine or completion of small animal rotating or emergency internships is highly recommended
