Job summary

Arizona Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Center (AVECCC) is seeking an Emergency Veterinarian for a full-time role in Litchfield Park, AZ. The position offers a 12:00 p.m.–12:00 a.m.

swing shift or consecutive overnight shifts, with strong clinical support and access to board-certified specialists. Compensation includes a $150,000 sign-on bonus plus relocation assistance, with competitive hourly or ProSal options and a pathway for career growth in emergency medicine within Ethos Veterinary

Qualifications

  • DVM degree or equivalent veterinary degree and eligibility for Arizona veterinary licensure.
  • Rotating internship or experience practicing emergency medicine is preferred.

The ER ABVP Guided Program offers a path that meets you where you are, allowing you to reach your emergency career goals without the need for an internship. Ideal for emergency practitioners within the Ethos network looking to deepen their expertise in emergency practice, this path allows you to stay in your current Ethos network hospital, enjoying your full wages and benefits while practicing at an Ethos hospital and pursuing board certification.

In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to a diverse caseload of companion animals.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients presenting with urgent and emergent medical conditions.
  • Provide comprehensive emergency care through a balanced mix of receiving new emergency cases, triaging incoming patients, and managing hospitalized patients throughout their course of treatment.
  • Perform emergency procedures and stabilize critically ill or injured patients using evidence-based medicine.
  • Collaborate with board-certified specialists in Critical Care, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Dentistry, and Radiology.
  • Work closely with experienced technicians, Doctor's Assistants, veterinarians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
  • Participate in collaborative case discussions, weekly rounds and ongoing educational opportunities.
  • Contribute to the continued growth of our emergency service and a positive hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.

What You Bring
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Arizona veterinary licensure.
