Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor degree required.
• Licensure (or ability to obtain) in Maryland required.

• Surgery experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work a consistent overnight block from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., three shifts per week.

• Support from 2–3 technicians per overnight shift, including at least one licensed veterinary technician.
• Participate in ongoing education, mentorship, and a culture of learning.

What You Can Expect

Work a consistent 7 p.m.–7 a.m. overnight block, 3 shifts per week, with the same shifts each week unless mutually agreed upon otherwise. Weekend coverage offers some flexibility, with the primary need being consistent overnight coverage.

You’ll be supported by 2–3 technicians per overnight shift, including at least one LVT, with general practice and swing-shift doctors available into the evening depending on the day.

The average overnight caseload is approximately 8–10 cases per shift, with Monday and weekend nights typically being busier.
