In this role you’ll manage rapid assessment, stabilization, and ongoing patient care across trauma, toxicities, and acute medical emergencies, while maintaining client communication and teamwork with colleagues.

Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD or equivalent required.
  • Michigan license or eligibility to obtain license.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Experience with emergency triage and stabilization.
  • Ability to manage anesthesia and hospitalized patients.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent client communication and teamwork.
  • Emergency surgical experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Perform emergency triage, stabilization, and treatment planning.
  • Manage medical and surgical emergency presentations.
  • Perform emergency procedures and surgery within experience level.
  • Oversee hospitalized and postoperative patients.
  • Utilize in-house diagnostics, radiography, and ultrasound.
  • Develop pain-management and treatment plans.
  • Communicate clearly with clients during stressful situations.
  • Collaborate with technicians, assistants, and veterinarians.
  • Participate in case discussions and clinical improvement.
  • Mentor students and junior veterinarians where appropriate.

The Opportunity

You’ll manage a diverse emergency and urgent care caseload, providing rapid assessment, stabilization, diagnostics, treatment, and ongoing patient management.

Cases may include trauma, toxicities, respiratory emergencies, gastrointestinal presentations, endocrine crises, acute medical conditions, surgical emergencies, and critically unwell hospitalized patients.

Responsibilities include:
  • Emergency triage, stabilization, and treatment planning
  • Managing medical and surgical emergency presentations
  • Performing emergency procedures and surgery within your experience level
  • Overseeing hospitalized and postoperative patients
  • Utilizing digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house diagnostics
  • Developing appropriate treatment and pain-management plans
  • Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients during stressful situations
  • Collaborating closely with technicians, assistants, and fellow veterinarians
  • Contributing to case discussions and continuous clinical improvement
  • Supporting students and developing veterinarians through mentorship where appropriate
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary up to $190,000, depending on experience
