Job summary

AmeriVet Veterinary Partners is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) for Animal Emergency Hospital in Burton, MI. You’ll provide expert patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting, including IV catheter placement and anesthesia monitoring, working with a dedicated ER team.

The role requires Michigan licensure, 2+ years of LVT experience (or 5+ years as a veterinary assistant if newly licensed), excellent medical math, and a calm, team-oriented approach with willingness to rotate

Qualifications

• Active license for Veterinary Technician in Michigan
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an LVT or minimum of 5 years as a veterinary assistant if newly licensed
• Comfortable and confident in-patient care and customer service
• Strong attention to detail and excellent medical math skills
• Calm under pressure with a team-first mindset
• Willingness to rotate overnights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Placement of IV catheters
• Monitoring anesthesia and patient vitals on critically ill patients
• Drawing blood and running diagnostics
• Critical thinking in fast-paced emergency situations
• Administering and monitoring blood transfusions
• Managing feeding tubes and critically ill patients
• Performing accurate medical math and medication calculations
